Abstract:
A unimorph type ultrasound probe comprises: a substrate whereupon a plurality of apertures are formed, each aperture having a prescribed shape; a plurality of diaphragms which are formed on the substrate such that each closes one end of a respective aperture; a plurality of piezoelectric element parts which are formed on the surfaces of the plurality of diaphragms, each piezoelectric element part comprising a piezoelectric body layer and a pair of electrode layers which are formed on both sides of the piezoelectric body layer; and a covering layer which is positioned on the surface of the substrate such that the plurality of piezoelectric element parts are embedded therein, and which is formed from an organic resin with an acoustic impedance of 1.5×106-4×106kg/m2s and a Shore A hardness of 75 or less.
