Abstract:
This uninterruptible power supply is provided with a converter (5) for converting AC power to DC power and an inverter (10) for converting DC power to AC power and supplying the same to a load (24). The load (24) receives an AC voltage within an allowable input voltage range and consumes a fixed amount of AC power. The efficiency η of the uninterruptible power supply is highest if the ratio of the load capacitance to the rated capacitance of the uninterruptible power supply is a prescribed value α. This uninterruptible power supply is further provided with a control device (18) for controlling the output voltage of the inverter (10) within the allowable input voltage range so as to increase the efficiency η if the ratio of the load capacitance to the rated capacitance is different from the prescribed value α.
