Description:
UNIVERSAL POST HOLDER FOR SOLAR PANELS

An object of this invention is a universal post holder for solar panels.

U.S. Patent No. 4265422 A is characterised by the fact that it has two independent clamping elements that include a fastening base to install solar panels. This invention enables fastening components at any height and in any distance from each other, which allows installing panels of different size.

Invention no. WO 2012/122507 A2 is distinguished by the presented post holder for solar panels that can be mounted to a variety of posts of different cross-sections. The appliance has been fitted with a few types of clamping rings to be used for different post cross-sections.

A base element of the holder according to the invention constitutes a rectangular box (cuboid) with a longitudinal groove in its rear wall. In a front face and in a rear element, two holes are made to mount the equipment fluently. They enable the user mounting two threaded clamps to the post that are designed for posts of different thicknesses and of different types of cross-sections such as square, rectangle, circle. A bolt screwed on the clamps induces fastening the structure to the post on any height. In the side walls of the base element, holes are made along the same axis, of a diameter that allows a round pipe to be laid out in order to fasten angle brackets - two per each solar panel. The angle brackets have attached a plate element with holes and threaded clamps to enable fitting on a transverse pipe at any angle. The holder contains components to install easily cables and to mount additional electrical measuring and video devices.

The holder according to the invention hereof is also equipped with a set of clamping rings to mount the holder to the post. However, it is distinguished by the fact that that the holder may have different shaped cross-sections, for example, square or rectangular, round or oval ones. The holder may be used for posts and jibs of different thickness, albeit it is especially useful for a post thickness within the range from 50mm to 100mm with one type of the clamp. The base element of holder constitutes a rectangular base with a longitudinal groove on its rear wall, the groove of which is equipped with regular slots on a top and bottom wall of the main structure the external component, which results in better adhesion to the post and improves adherence, providing a stable fastening to the post and preventing turning around its axis. In a front face, two holes are made to mount the equipment fluently. They enable fastening at right angle to the post two threaded clamps, profiled, of a concave or crescent inner shape, additionally grooved. Such shape provides better adhesion to the post and a stable fit. A bolt screwed on the clamps induces fastening the structure to the post on any height. In the side walls of the base element, holes are made (along the axis) of a diameter that allows a round pipe to be laid out in order to fasten angle brackets - two per each solar panel. The angle brackets have attached a plate element with holes and threaded clamps to enable fitting on a transverse pipe at any angle. From the front, depending on current demands, it is possible to install an additional element - a horizontal beam intended for fitting next solar panel. The holder contains components to install easily cables and to mount additional electrical measuring and video devices.

The invention acc. to the invention is distinguished by simplicity, easy-to- mount and versatility. The applied one type of clamp can be used for all types of posts. An indubitable advantage is also a flexibility in shaping the area for solar panels.

The object of the invention is shown in the example of drawings, where: Fig. 1 illustrates the device in its cross-section, fitted to a round profile 0 100mm, Fig. 2 shows a section through the elements that fasten solar panels, Fig. 3 shows a side view, Fig, 4 przesents the device in its view from the front, Fig. 5 shows a top view, Fig. 6 shows an axonometric view of the device from the rear, Fig. 7 shows the axonometric projection of the device to the front, Fig. 8 shows an axonometric view the hardware from the front, Fig. 9 shows the axonometry of fastening element from the rear, Fig. 10 shows the axonometric view of the option with 2 solar panels, whereas Fig. 11 illustrates the axonometric view with one solar panel , Fig. 12 shows a cross-section of the device fastened to the round profile 0 75mm, Fig. 13 shows a cross-section of the device fastened to the round profile 0 50mm, Fig. 14 presents the cross-section of the device fastened to a square profile.

The inventive device has a set of clamps (1), by which the mounting of holder to the post is made, which may have different cross-sections (square, rectangle, circle etc.) and different thicknesses, however, particularly advantageous is the use a post of diameter within the range of 50mm to 100mm. A base element of the holder is a cuboid constructed of two components: inner (2) and outer (10), that make one piece. The inner element (10) of holder has a longitudinal groove (3) on its rear wall that is equipped with regular slots (4) on a top and bottom wall of the main structure the inner component, which results in better adhesion to the post and improves adherence, providing a stable fastening to the post and preventing turning the element around an axis of the post. In the front wall of the outer component (2) two holes (5) are made to install the device easily, e.g., by a screw fastening. They enable mounting at right angle to the post 2 pieces of threaded clamps, profiled, of a concave, crescent inner shape, additionally grooved. Such shape provides better adhesion to the post and a stable fit. A bolt (6) screwed on the clamps induces fastening the structure to the post on any height. An appropriate length of the bolt provides flexibility in fastening the device on different thicknesses of the post. In the side walls of the outer component (2), holes (7) are made along the axis of a diameter that allows a round pipe (8) to be laid out in order to fasten angle brackets - two per each solar panel. Pipe (8) being a support for solar panels is attached to the outer component with clamps (9). The parallel angle brackets (11 ) have attached in a half of their length a plate element (12) with holes and threaded clamps to enable fitting on a transverse pipe at any angle. From the front, depending on current demands, it is possible to install an additional element - a horizontal beam (14) intended for fitting next solar panel. The holder contains components to install easily cables and to mount additional electrical measuring and video devices.
