Title:
USE OF DBN AND DBU SALTS AS IONIC LIQUIDS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2005007657
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to liquid salts of amines, for example, 1,5-diaza-bicyclo[4.3.0]non-5-ene (DBN) and 1,8-diaza-bicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (DBU), that can be used as ionic liquids. Said liquid salts can also be used as solvents, extraction agents, catalysts or heat transfer liquids and for other purposes. Preferably, said salts are adducts of DBN and DBU comprising at least one molecule of trifluoroacetic acid or hydrogen fluoride.
