Title:
USE OF IRON-CONTAINING MATERIAL IN PREPARATION OF PRODUCT FOR INHIBITING TRANSMISSION OF DENGUE VIRUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2021/027181
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is the use of an iron-containing material in the preparation of a product for inhibiting the transmission of dengue virus and/or inhibiting the susceptibility of mosquitoes to dengue virus. Hosts with different iron statuses that have been bitten by Aedes aegypti and infected with the dengue virus have different viral infection rates, and the susceptibility of Aedes aegypti to the dengue virus is negatively correlated with an iron status of the blood of a host. The iron supplementation for an iron-deficient mouse model can reduce the susceptibility of same to dengue virus triggered by Aedes aegypti, indicating that an iron-containing material can reduce the ability of Aedes aegypti to carry a virus and can block the spread of the virus.
