Abstract:
An electronic device use limiting system for limiting use of an electronic device which has been left and thereby preventing another person except the owner from falsely using the electronic device and reducing the power consumption. A key (10) and a use limiter (20) equipped in a portable telephone (1) start polling at a predetermined polling interval and periodically ascertain the operated state of the portable telephone (1). If the portable telephone (1) is being operated, the polling interval is prolonged from T1 to T2. If not, the elapsing time from the latest operation time is measured by a timer. According to the measured time, the polling interval is gradually shortened from T1 or T2 to T3-T5 to do the polling.
