Abstract:
Provided is use of mannose in inhibiting pyroptosis or relieving toxic and side effects of a chemotherapy drug, which relates to the field of medical science and technologies. Mannose inhibits pyroptosis induced by a chemotherapy drug, such that toxic and side effects caused by the chemotherapy drug on the intestinal tract and the kidney are relieved, and meanwhile, a treatment effect of the chemotherapy drug on a tumor is not affected. Mannose can be used for preparing a drug, a kit, a pharmaceutical composition or a health care product for inhibiting pyroptosis or relieving toxic and side effects of the chemotherapy drug. Side effects caused by the chemotherapy drug on the kidney and the intestinal tract can be relieved. Mannose can be used as a supplementary drug clinically, the toxic and side effects of the chemotherapy drug are relieved as much as possible while the curative effect of the chemotherapy drug is ensured, the physical and psychological health of the patient is improved, and meanwhile, the tumor inhibition effect of the chemotherapy drug is not affected. Therefore, a new choice for clinical medication is provided for a cancer patient.
