Title:
USER DEVICE AND METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/170523
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a technology for detecting the success or failure of an RA process executed in response to a reconfiguration instruction issued by a base station which instructs a user device to carry out reconfiguration. One embodiment of the present invention relates to a user device having a dual connectivity function of simultaneously communicating with a master base station and a secondary base station. The user device includes a transmission/reception unit that transmits and receives radio signals to and from the master base station and the secondary base station, an RA processing unit that executes a random access (RA) process, and a timer managing unit that initiates a timer upon detecting an RA process initiation event which triggers initiation of an RA process in the secondary base station. If an RA process executed in response to detection of the RA process initiation event is not completed before completion of the timer, the timer managing unit informs the base station that was the origin of the trigger that the RA process was not completed.
