Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. The disclosure relates apparatuses and methods for a UE initiated cell switch. A method for operating a user equipment (UE) includes receiving configuration information for reference signals associated with measurement of one or more candidate cells, receiving configuration information for transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state lists associated with the one or more candidate cells, performing measurement on the reference signals, determining, based on the measurement, a measurement report, and transmitting the measurement report.
