Abstract:
The present application relates to the technical field of communications, and discloses a user plane function network element determination method and device. The user plane function network element determination method of embodiments of the present application comprises: a user plane function network element sends a network element registration request message to a first network element, the network element registration request message being used for registering network element information of the user plane function network element to the first network element; the user plane function network element obtains a network element registration response message sent by the first network element. The network element registration request message comprising at least one of: service region information of the user plane function network element; data type identification information supported by the user plane function network element; information of a session management function network element associated with the user plane function network element; direct-obtaining capability indication information for indicating that the user plane function network element supports a data consumption network element to directly obtain data from the user plane function network element; and indirect-obtaining capability indication information for indicating that the user plane function network element supports the data consumption network element to indirectly obtain the data from the user plane function network element by means of the session management function network element.
