Title:
UTILIZATION OF ZPT2-3 ZINC FINGER TYPE TRANSCRIPTIONAL FACTOR IN CONSTRUCTING PLANT WITH ENHANCED RESISTANCE TO DRYNESS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/024028
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
To examine functions of ZPT2-3, a transformed petunia plant overexpressing ZPT2-3 gene under the regulation by CaMV 35S promoter is constructed and the presence or absence of resistance to a dry stress treatment is discussed. As a result, it is surprisingly found out that the transformed petunia plant shows a remarkably enhanced resistance to dryness compared with the wild type. Since the transformed petunia plant shows no abnormality in growth or morphology, it is clarified that the overexpression of ZPT2-3 gene exhibits no undesirable effect on the growth of the plant, etc.
