Abstract:
Provided is an outboard motor in which exhaust piping can be installed easily and which can have a lower center of gravity. Cylinders (15) in which pistons (16) are moved are arranged in a V-shape. A crankshaft (13) that is driven by driving of the pistons (16) is disposed vertically. An upper exhaust pipe (31) that is connected to an exhaust opening (30) of each bank of a cylinder head (20), and a catalyst holder (50) that holds a catalyst (53) and that is provided at a position below the cylinder (15) of the upper exhaust pipe (31), are provided. Accordingly, the upper exhaust pipe (31) and a lower exhaust pipe (32) can be installed easily, and a lower center of gravity can be obtained, while maintaining the effect of the catalyst, and it is possible to reduce the size and weight of a V-type engine (10).
