Abstract:
Provided are a V-type engine, an outboard motor, and a ship that can prevent a catalyst from being submerged. In the present invention, cylinders in which pistons are operated are arranged in a V-shape, and a crank shaft driven by driving the pistons is disposed in a vertical direction. The present invention is provided with: exhaust pipes that are respectively connected to exhaust ports of banks of a cylinder head; and catalyst retention parts that are respectively provided to the exhaust pipes and that retain a catalyst above the banks.
