Description:
VACUUM CLEANER MOUTHPIECE

The field of the invention

The present invention relates to a vacuum cleaner mouthpiece according to the preamble of claim 1.

Background

With the already existing vacuum cleaner mouthpieces it is difficult to access narrow spaces, they are often unwieldy and it occurs frequently that small objects such as toys, jewellery and other things that unintentionally happens to be lying on the floor by mistake end up inside the vacuum cleaner. According to the state of the art, this problem is aimed at being solved, by arranging filters in connection with the sleeve coupling on the vacuum cleaner mouthpiece, with the intention to catch small objects with the filter. A disadvantage with this is that these small objects have to be picked out of the filter, which by then also contains dust. Further, it becomes an unwieldy device. Other solutions involve of arranging a grid in the pipe between the vacuum cleaner mouthpiece and the vacuum cleaner or an extra piece of pipe that is assembled between vacuum cleaner pipe and sleeve coupling on the vacuum cleaner mouthpiece. None of these solutions works particularly well and has not led to a product that occurs frequently on the market.

The invention

The purpose of the invention is to accomplish a vacuum cleaner mouthpiece that solves the problems that is at hand according to the prior art, and which is light, easy to use and also accesses narrow spaces and furthermore is inexpensive to manufacture . These and other objects are attained with the vacuum cleaner mouthpiece according to claim 1. Preferred embodiments and further developments are stated in the subclaims.

Brief description of the drawings

Further objects, advantages and characteristics of the invention will be apparent from the subsequent description of the invention, in connection with embodiments of the invention shown in the drawings, whereby

Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of the vacuum cleaner mouthpiece according to the present invention,

Fig. 2 shows a view from under the vacuum cleaner mouthpiece according to the invention,

Fig. 3 shows a view of the suction mouthpiece constituting a part of the vacuum cleaner mouthpiece according to the invention.

Fig. 4 a view from under of the suction mouthpiece that is shown in fig. 4,

Fig. 5 shows a view in detail of the suction mouthpiece that is shown in fig. 4 and 5, and

Fig. 6 shows the vacuum cleaner mouthpiece according to the invention equipped with a cover lid.

Description of embodiments of the invention

The invention will now be described more closely in connection with the appended drawings showing embodiments of the invention, whereby in fig. 1 is shown a perspective view of the vacuum cleaner mouthpiece. It consists of a suction mouthpiece 1 with a thereby preferably hinged jointed connection sleeve coupling 2 and a shovel 3 detachably mounted on the suction mouthpiece. The suction mouthpiece exhibits an above the surface of the shovel 3 existing suction surface 4 exhibiting suction openings 5 with a maximum dimension that preferably does not exceed ca 3 mm. The suction openings can be square or circular or have another desired or due to manufacturing techniques preferred shape.

As is shown in fig. 2 the shovel covers a second suction surface on the suction mouthpiece, which will be discussed more in detail below, and extends up to a back wall 6 of the suction mouthpiece. The shovel exhibits elongated through holes 7 in the area of the suction openings of the second suction surface as well as projections 8, which distance the shovel from a ground when used.

The shape of the shovel 3 is not crucial for the function. On the drawings is shown an embodiment where the shovel expands to both sides from the suction mouthpiece and exhibits side edges 9, which catches objects gathered from the shovel, for example toys or other small objects, but other shapes are plausible.

In fig. 3 the suction mouthpiece 1 is shown in perspective from above with the shovel removed and in fig. 3 in perspective from under. The suction mouthpiece 1 exhibits a first suction surface 4 on a forward, when used on for example a floor, facing side and a second suction surface 10 on a downwards, when used on for example a floor, facing side. The suction openings on the second suction surface are formed in the same way as the suction openings 5 on the first surface. The suction surfaces are arranged at an angle in relation to each other and at the transition between the two suction surfaces is in the shown embodiment arranged suction openings 11, in the shape of a row of elongated openings. Also these suction openings preferably has a maximum dimension that does not exceed about 3 mm. It is obvious that the suction mouthpiece can be used separately for vacuum cleaning of fragile objects such as curtains.

The surfaces 4, 10 angled in relation to each other, are attached in an arched back wall 6, that on the sides are equipped with elements for angling of the pipe sleeve coupling in relation to the suction mouthpiece, as implied in fig. 5. The mechanism for achieving this can be accomplished in several different ways and since the mechanism in itself does not constitute a part of the invention, it will not be further described in detail here. The hinged connection sleeve coupling allows for comfortable use in different situations and by people of different height. It is of course possible to omit the hinge function to thereby make it possible to manufacture the vacuum cleaner mouthpiece according to the invention in a more simple manner and considerably reduce the manufacturing cost without in any way affecting the desired function. Thereby, the back wall can be designed straight and the whole suction mouthpiece with connection sleeve coupling can be manufactured in one piece.

As is evident from fig. 1 and 2, the shovel is designed with wall elements 12, that covers the sides of the suction mouthpiece and which also holds the shovel in a secure manner on the suction mouthpiece. The shovel further exhibits a wall element 13 connected with the wall element 12 with arched form and with an aperture 14 that extends over a part of the arched connection between the wall elements to accomplish a resilient action. With the aid of this design, the shovel can be easily attached to the suction mouthpiece and be detached, respectively. As is schematically shown in fig. 6, on the shovel can be arranged a cover lid 15, designed with a recess 16 at its front end to create a suction opening between the front end of the shovel and the cover lid. Several suction openings can be arranged, or an elongated opening which extends throughout the width of the shovel, can be arranged.
