Abstract:
A vacuum interrupter (1) is provided with: a vacuum container (2); and a fixed electrode (3) and a movable electrode (4) that are provided in the vacuum container (2). The vacuum container (2) is configured by airtightly joining a fixed-side end plate (6) and a movable-side end plate (7) to one end of an insulating cylinder (5) and to the other end of the insulating cylinder (5), respectively. Projections (5a) are provided to the ends of the insulating cylinder (5) along the outer circumference of the insulating cylinder (5) so as to project in the axial direction of the insulating cylinder (5). End plate joints (5b) are provided to the ends of the insulating cylinder (5) so as to project from the base ends of the projections (5a) toward the inner circumferential direction of the insulating cylinder (5). A metallized layers (8) to which the fixed-side end plate (6) (or the movable-side end plate (7)) is joined by brazing is provided to the surface of the end plate joint (5b). The metallized layers (8) are each provided with a joint section (8a) that extends in the radial direction of the insulating cylinder (5), and an extension section (8b) that extends in the axial direction of the insulating cylinder (5), from the inner circumferential-side end of the insulating cylinder (5) of the joint section (8a).
