Abstract:
A valerolactone compound represented by the formula (I): (I) (wherein R1 and R2 each independently represents hydrogen, methyl, or ethyl; R3 represents hydrogen or methyl; and R4 represents propyl, 1-propenyl, or phenyl; provided that not both of R1 and R2 are hydrogen); the valerolactone compound represented by the formula (II): (II) and a process for producing that compound; and a perfume composition containing any of the valerolactone compounds.
