Abstract:
[Problem] To enhance operator efficiency by determining the possibility of following the speed at which paper is ejected from a printer, and performing an appropriate process according to the determination result. [Solution] This validation device includes: an external connection terminal connected to a printer; a transport unit for transporting paper; a reader for reading print information printed on the paper; and a controller for calculating, on the basis of information relating to conditions for reading the print information, the maximum transport speed at which it is possible to validate the print information while transporting the paper, comparing the calculated maximum transport speed with the speed at which the paper is ejected from the printer, and when it is determined thereby that the print information cannot be validated while the paper is transported so as to follow the speed at which the paper is ejected from the printer, outputting, to an external connection terminal, a signal for setting the speed at which the paper is ejected from the printer to a value equal to or less than the calculated maximum transport speed, and validating the print information.
