Provided is a valve timing adjustment device with which slipping of an assist spring is minimized, disengagement is prevented, and the assist spring is easy to assemble. This valve timing adjustment device adjusts the timing at which an intake valve or exhaust valve of an internal combustion engine opens and closes, said device being characterized by comprising: a first rotational solid (2); a second rotational solid (3); a holder (4) fixed to the second rotational solid (3); ribs (13) projecting from the first rotational solid (2); and a spiral-spring-type assist spring (5) of which an outer peripheral end part (5b) is fixed to the first rotational solid (2) and an innermost periphery (5c) and inner peripheral end part (5a) are wound around the outer periphery of the holder (4) and fixed to the second rotational solid (3), and which biases the second rotational solid (3) in one direction in relation to the first rotational solid (2), an inner peripheral end part (5a) of the assist spring (5) being formed in a non-bent shape, an outermost periphery (5d) being in contact with the ribs (13), a second roll (5e) being in contact with the inner peripheral end part (5a), and there being no contact between rolls from the second roll (5e) to the outermost periphery (5d).
