Abstract:
Disclosed is a variable capacitance element capable of stably obtaining desired capacitance even when fluctuating capacitance factors arise. A capacitance detecting signal of a pulse signal is applied by a capacitance detecting signal generator unit (30) to a driving capacitor (10B) of an MEMS mechanism unit (10) and a reference capacitor (40). Element voltage of the driving capacitor (10B), based on the capacitance detecting signal and the driving voltage, is sent to an inverting input terminal of a comparator (50). Conversely, element voltage of the reference capacitor (40), based on the capacitance detecting signal and the driving voltage, is sent to a non-inverting input terminal of the comparator (50). The comparator (50) generates a comparison output signal using two values, "High" and "Low," based on the difference of the respective element voltages, and sends same to a driving voltage generator unit (20). The driving voltage generator unit (20) either increases or decreases the driving voltage on the basis of the comparison output signal.
