Abstract:
A variable displacement oil pump (VP1) according to the present invention has a coil spring (SP), which is a bias member, provided at a position not overlapping a first intake port (114), a second intake port (124), and an intake opening (124b) which correspond to an intake part, when viewed in the axial direction along a drive shaft (2). Thus, during pumping operation of the variable displacement oil pump (VP1), flows of oil guided to respective pump chambers (30) in a intake region, through the first intake port (114), the second intake port (124), and the intake opening (124b), which correspond to the intake part, are unlikely to be blocked by the coil spring (SP). Accordingly, intake resistance during pumping operation is reduced, and the intake performance of the pump can be improved.
