Abstract:
The present invention reduces glare from external light during an image display state of a variable mirror–equipped display device. Provided is a variable mirror–equipped display device (1) that can be electrically switched between a mirror state and an image display state, the variable mirror–equipped display device comprising: a display unit (10) that emits image light; a reflective polarizing plate (11) that is disposed on the light emission side of the display unit; a liquid crystal lens (12) that is disposed opposite the display unit, with the reflective polarizing plate therebetween; and a control device (15) that controls the operation of the display unit and the liquid crystal lens, wherein the liquid crystal lens can be electrically switched between a first state of functioning as a lens and a second state of not functioning as a lens through control by the control device.
