Title:
VARIABLE-PHASE DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/203856
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present embodiment relates to a variable-phase device provided with a new device structure whereby various problems can be overcome. The variable-phase device is provided with M (M being an integer of 2 or greater) pixels which are one-dimensionally or two-dimensionally arranged and which each emit light or modulate light. The arrangement period of the M pixels is less than the wavelength of incident light and is fixed along a predetermined direction. Each of the M pixels includes N (N being an integer of 2 or greater) sub-pixels each having a structure for making the phase of emitted light variable. In each of the M pixels, N partial luminous fluxes outputted from the N sub-pixels are multiplexed into light having a single phase in a far field.
