Abstract:
A variable valve device equipped with: a cam shaft having guide grooves extending in the axial direction; cam carriers, on which multiple cams are arranged in parallel in the axial direction, and which are mounted on the cam shaft so as to be capable of moving in the axial direction on the cam shaft; engaging pins, which engage the guide grooves and with which the cam carriers are mounted so as to be capable of moving in the axial direction with respect to the cam shaft; and axial direction driving parts, which move the cam carriers in the axial direction with respect to the cam shaft, switching between the multiple cams. With this variable valve device the cam carriers are mounted on the cam shaft so as to be capable of moving in the axial direction of the cam shaft, and the rotation of the cam carriers around the cam shaft can be regulated.
