Abstract:
Disclosed is a vehicle AC generator of high quality and high output in which the cooling efficiency of the heat sinks of the rectifier is increased, said vehicle AC generator being provided with: a stator provided with stator windings; a front frame and a rear frame which rotatably support a rotor within the stator with a gap between the rotor and the inner circumference of the stator; a cooling fan mounted on the rotor; a rectifier which is provided with a first polarity-side arm for rectifying a current of one polarity and a second polarity-side arm for rectifying a current of the other polarity, and which rectifies the AC current generated by the stator windings; and a protective cover covering the rectifier; wherein the rectifier is provided with a first heat sink (20) on which are mounted a plurality of rectifying devices which constitute the first polarity-side arm, a second heat sink (21) on which are mounted a plurality of rectifying devices which constitute the second polarity-side arm, and a connection plate (19) disposed between the first heat sink and the second heat sink and having a wavelike configuration; and wherein paths for cooling wind caused by the cooling fan are formed between the first heat sink and the connection plate and between the second heat sink and the connection plate.
