A vehicle approach alert apparatus (100) according to the present invention provided in an electric mobile object (200) that produces at least some of driving force from an electric motor emits an alerting sound outside the electric mobile object (200) from a sound generator (40). The vehicle approach alert apparatus (100) is provided with: a vehicle signal acquisition unit (1) that acquires a vehicle signal (20) of the electric mobile object (200) at acquisition intervals (T), and that outputs an acquisition signal; and a signal processing unit (2) that processes the acquisition signal, and characterized in that the signal processing unit (2) calculates an estimation value (est_x(n+1)) of the vehicle signal (20) to be acquired next time on the basis of the slope of the vehicle signal (20), and performs an interpolation process by using the next-time estimation value (est_x(n+1)) which is an estimation value calculated this time, and a present-time estimation value (est_x(n)) which is an estimation value calculated in the previous time.
