Description:
VEHICLE BONNET OPENING PREVENTION DEVICE Technical Field The present invention relates to a vehicle bonnet opening prevention device, and more particularly, a vehicle bonnet opening prevention device wherein the bonnet lock is maintained even if a knob at the driver's seat in the vehicle is handled, thereby preventing a theft of the vehicle.

Background Art Bonnet refers to a removable metal plate over a machine part, for housing therein and covering an engine and a battery for a vehicle, which is kept locked in motion. In case that'the bonnet is to be open for a certain reason, a driver must release the lever or knob at the driver's seat, fling a lock open and lift the bonnet cover by hand.

The bonnet is made to open in the forward direction or in the front window direction. The forward direction opening manner is more preferred to improve workability.

The bonnet opening prevention device of present invention is disposed at the front of the bonnet.

Fig. 1 shows a general bonnet lock in the vehicle.

The bonnet 600 is hinged (not shown) in front of the front window, rearward of the engine room. A striker (not

shown) is positioned in the inner side of the bonnet 600 and a bonnet locker 400 is positioned in the forward of the engine room. A knob 500 at the driver's seat is connected by a release wire 300 to a locking member (not shown) of the bonnet lock 400. The release wire 300 is fixed by cable clip 700 on the body.

Reference numeral 800 indicates a shrouded weather strip. Reference numeral 900 indicates a cushion rubber.

Fig. 2 is a front view showing the general bonnet lock. The bonnet lock 400 is resiliently hinged, including a body 410, handle 420 having a spring 440, and a lock 430.

If it is desirable to open the bonnet 600, the knob 500 at the driver's seat is pulled to move the release 300 and unlock the bonnet locker 400, the handle 420 of the bonnet locker 400 is lifted up to release the striker from the lock 430 and then the bonnet 600 is manually lifted up to open.

The conventional method has a disadvantage that the bonnet 600 is made open by pulling the knob 500, moving the release wire 300 and releasing locked of the bonnet lock 400. Thus when the vehicle is parked at a place, a would-be thief may easily steal the vehicle after unlocking the bonnet 600 and damaging the theft prevention device installed therein.

A steering wheel locking device has been suggested

in order to solve the above disadvantage, which makes the steering wheel locked in the key box.

The steering wheel locking device for maintaining the steering wheel in locked is installed at the key box within the driver's seat. Once the thief succeeds to enter the vehicle by all means, e. g., by using a duplicate or universal key, the key box may be disassembled to unlock the locking device of the steering wheel.

Disclosure of the Invention The present invention is derived to solve the disadvantage of the conventional device. In order to achieve the object of the invention, there is provided a vehicle bonnet opening prevention device comprising a release wire of which one end is connected to the locking device in the bonnet lock and the other end is connected to a knob at the driver's seat, locking means for leading the release wire to remain stationary despite handling the knob, and a remote controller for locking and unlocking the release wire by actuating the locking means. When the startup key is taken out from the startup key holder and a remote controller is pressed, the locking means makes it impossible to move the release wire, so that the bonnet keeps in a locked state, thereby preventing the vehicle theft.

Brief Description of The Draxings The present invention will be described in detail through use of the accompanying drawings in which: Fig. 1 is an exploded view of the general bonnet lock in the vehicle; Fig. 2 is a front view showing the general bonnet lock; Fig. 3 is a sectional view showing the bonnet opening prevention device according to the present invention ; and Fig. 4 is an enlarged sectional view of the line A-A of Fig. 3.

Best Mode for Carrying out the Invention The presently preferred embodiments of the invention will be best understood by reference to the drawings.

Referring to Figs. 3 and 4, there is shown a vehicle bonnet opening prevention device comprising a release wire 300 of which one end is connected to the locking device (not shown) in the bonnet lock 400 and the other end is connected to a knob 500 at the driver's seat, locking means 100 for leading the release wire 300 to remain stationary despite handling the knob 500, and a remote controller 200 for locking and unlocking the release wire 300 by actuating the locking means 100.

The locking means 100 further comprises a motor 110

for rotating a rotary shaft 111 in a clockwise direction for a predetermined time at a timer 112 in accordance with the operational state of the remote controller 200, moving piece 120 being moved in one of any direction depending on the driving direction of the rotary shaft 111, finger stop 130 for locking and unlocking the release wire 300 according to the moving direction of the moving piece 120, and a case 140 forming reception grooves 141 in opposite for holding the finger stop 130 moving in either direction.

The finger stop 130 is fixedly engaged with the release wire 300.

In parking the vehicle, the driver pulls out a startup key from the startup key holder and presses the remote controller 200. By a signal generated from the remote controller 200 the motor 110 drives in a clockwise direction for a predetermined time at the timer 112 and the moving piece 120 moves to hang the finger stop 130 from the rotary shaft 111 by the motor 110. As a result, the release wire 300 does not move in either direction.

Although the knob 500 in the vehicle is handled, the release wire 300 does not move and the bonnet lock 400 is kept in locked.

When the remote controller 200 is pressed at a state of startup key being in the key holder, the motor 110 drives in a counterclockwise direction for a

predetermined time at the timer 112 and the moving piece 120 moves in either direction by the rotary shaft 111 in the direction of the motor 110 to release the finger stop 130. The release wire 300 moves in either direction in accordance with the knob 500, to make the bonnet lock 400 locked or unlocked.

The present invention utilizes a remote controller to rotate in a clockwise direction the motor for a predetermined time at the timer, so that the moving piece moves to hang from the finger stop, thereby leading the release wire to remain stationary despite handling the knob. Accordingly, the bonnet with the theft prevention devices installed therein cannot be opened even if the thief in the vehicle handles the knob, thereby preventing the vehicle theft in parking.
