Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a vehicle control device for disengaging a lock-up clutch (2c) when the rotational speed of an engine (1) falls below a disengagement rotational speed, wherein the transmission ratio of a variator (20) is varied on the basis of shift map in which a primary pulley rotational speed (Npri) at a coast line is set greater than the primary pulley rotational speed (Npri) at a drive line, and when an accelerator pedal (51) is operated such that an accelerator pedal operation amount (APO) is equal to or less than a first prescribed operation amount, a desired input rotational speed (Nint) of the variator (20) is set to a prescribed desired input rotational speed (Nintp) that is higher than the primary pulley rotational speed (Npri) at the drive line. The present invention also pertains to a method for controlling said device. The present invention thereby makes it possible to minimize the decrease in the fuel efficiency of the engine (1) caused by the disengaging of the lock-up clutch (2c) which is a friction fastening element.
