Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle control device that, even when a stop condition cannot be recognized at a predetermined position, is capable of preventing the sudden deceleration of a vehicle being controlled. This is a vehicle control device 140 that is mounted in a vehicle. The vehicle control device 140 includes: a position acquisition unit F1 for acquiring the position of the vehicle; a route acquisition unit F2 for acquiring a predetermined route for the vehicle; a recognition unit F3 for recognizing a stop condition included in image data Dg from an image capturing unit; a range setting unit F4 for setting a stop-condition recognition range in the predetermined route; a speed calculation unit F5 for calculating a braking speed for the vehicle at which it is possible to stop the vehicle at a stop position corresponding to the stop condition without the acceleration during the deceleration of the vehicle exceeding a set value; and a travel control unit F6 for controlling the speed of the vehicle to be the braking speed when the position of the vehicle is within the recognition range and the recognition unit cannot recognize the stop condition.
