Abstract:
In the present invention a controller has a control unit that executes a coasting-stop control for automatically stopping a drive source (engine) while a vehicle is travelling, when a permission condition is established, which includes when the transmission ratio R of a variator is on the low side of a first threshold value R1 while a lockup clutch is in an engagement phase. When the lockup clutch is in the engagement phase and an input/output rotation speed difference D of a torque converter is equal to or greater than a prescribed value D1, the control unit prohibits execution of the coasting-stop control.
