Abstract:

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a vehicle control device and a motorcycle which can set the engine speed to a speed that allows achieving a comfortable ride and which can easily obtain the desired driving force. In this vehicle control device, a base rotational speed calculation unit (11A) calculates a base engine speed on the basis of information relating to the vehicle speed, a rotational speed correction unit (11H) calculates a target engine speed on the basis of the base engine speed, and a target gear ratio calculation unit (13) calculates a target gear ratio on the basis of the target engine speed. A driving force target calculation unit (15) calculates a target engine torque on the basis of the acceleration operation amount and the base engine speed, and a target throttle opening amount calculation unit (18) calculates a target throttle opening amount on the basis of the target engine torque and the target engine speed. Further, the rotational speed correction unit (11H) calculates a target engine speed on the basis of the base engine speed and a value relating to the vehicle driving force.
