Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle control device that ensures normal control even when a program containing an error is delivered. The vehicle control device that includes a calculation unit and a memory and updates software stored in the memory comprises: a communication unit which receives encrypted software; a decryption unit which decrypts the encrypted software into plain text; a rewriting unit which stores, in the memory, the set and decrypted software; and a determination unit which collates first collation information preset in the memory and second collation information given to the software, determines whether to store the decrypted software on the basis of the collation result, and when the decrypted software is to be stored, selects the decrypted software as the next startup software.
