Abstract:
This vehicle control device 10 (10a-10d), which is mounted on a vehicle 100 and controls the vehicle, comprises: an obstacle detection unit 110 which detects an obstacle present inside a railroad crossing by using a detection result of a sensor; a clearance calculating unit 111 which specifies the position and size of the obstacle, using the detection result by the obstacle detection unit, and calculates a clearance in a direction intersecting a traveling path when the vehicle crosses a railroad crossing, by using the specified position and size; and a passibility determination unit 112 which determines, on the basis of the calculated clearance, whether or not the vehicle can pass through the railroad crossing.
