Abstract:

A vehicle control device (120) according to the present application comprises: a plurality of computation processing devices (107, 110); storage devices (108, 111) each having a program stored therein; an in-vehicle communication path (105); an external communication control unit (104) for receiving, from an external source, data and update program information pertaining to an update program; a program sorting unit (201) for sorting update programs as existing programs and new programs; a new program writing unit (202) for receiving a new program from an external source and writing the new program to a storage region of the computation processing device (107) that executes the update program; and an existing program writing unit (203) for reading, via the in-vehicle communication path (105), an existing program from the storage region where said program is present, and writing the same to the storage region of the computation processing device (107) that executes the update program.
