Abstract:
The present invention detects the decrease in the amount of remaining power supply capacity after starting a software update, and determines whether it is possible to continue updating the software, thus making it possible to update software with high stability. A vehicle control device (100) comprises a storage device (91) into which software is written, a reception unit (18) that receives update software, a remaining power supply capacity detection unit (15), a remaining power supply capacity decrease detection unit (16), a software update power calculation unit (12), a software update starting permission unit (13), a software update continuation permission unit (14), and a software update control unit (11), and continuing updating the software is permitted if the amount of decrease in the remaining power supply capacity of a battery (20) is smaller than a decrease determination value established beforehand.
