A ceiling-mountable display monitor system (10) for the passenger compartment (18) of a vehicle (16). The display monitor system (10) includes a display monitor (12) coupled to a housing assembly (14). In one exemplary embodiment, the housing assembly (14) is selectively adjustable for mounting in different vehicles having different ceiling configurations. In another exemplary embodiment, an upper portion (44) of the housing assembly (14) is mountable above the vehicle headliner (22), while a lower portion (46) of the housing assembly (14) is mountable below the headliner (22). Optionally, the upper portions (44) of the housing assembly (14) clamp onto the headliner (22). The upper (44) and/or the lower (46) portions may be adjustable for mounting in different vehicles. In another exemplary embodiment, adjustable mounts (30) are oriented with the upper portion (44) by sliding the leg (54) of the mounts into slits (58) on the upper portion (44). The length of the legs (54) may be adjusted by pre-cutting to the desired length prior to insertion in the slits (58) on the upper portion (44).
