Abstract:

The disclosed vehicle door lock device is equipped with an active lever, which puts an open link into a locked or unlocked state, and a child lock mechanism, which is provided on the inside opening lever and renders the transmission of pressing force from the inside open lever to the open link effective when in an unset state and renders the transmission of pressing force ineffective when in a set state. An engagement part is provided on the active lever and a pressing part is provided on the intermediate member of the child lock mechanism. When the intermediate member is in an unset position, if the inside door handle is subjected to a door opening operation and the intermediate member is moved into a set position by the child protector lever, the pressing part of the intermediate member engages the engaging part of the active lever and moves the active lever into a locked position. Therefore, by using the child protector lever and the inside door handle, which is an existing structural member, it is possible to lock the door in an emergency and an emergency operation member, which is for emergency use only, is unnecessary.
