Abstract:
A vehicle following method and apparatus. The method comprises: a vehicle networking communication device receiving slow traffic caution information from a server; sending a follow initiation request message to the server, wherein the follow initiation request message comprises a vehicle driving route; acquiring vehicle following information, wherein the vehicle following information comprises a vehicle following speed range and a vehicle-to-vehicle distance range, the vehicle following information is determined according to one or more pieces of the following information: a vehicle speed and location of a vehicle being followed and traffic condition information on the vehicle driving route; and adjusting the vehicle speed and the distance thereof from the vehicle being followed according to the vehicle following information. The present invention can determine vehicle following information according to the vehicle speed and location of the vehicle being followed and the traffic condition information on the vehicle driving route and thus can provide comprehensive and accurate vehicle following information for performing vehicle following.
