Abstract:
This vehicle lamp (10) comprises: an optical unit (20) including a spatial light modulator (22) for providing an ordinary light distribution pattern and road surface drawing; and an actuator (30) that drives the optical unit (20) so as to switch the emission direction of the optical unit (20) between a first direction for the ordinary light distribution pattern and a second direction, for road surface drawing, oriented more downward than the first direction. The spatial light modulator (22) is configured such that during a return operation of the actuator (30) for driving the optical unit (20) so as to return the emission direction of the optical unit (20) upward from the second direction to the first direction, at least a portion of a lights-off area on the spatial light modulator (22) for the ordinary light distribution pattern is lighted together with a lights-on area on the spatial light modulator (22) for the ordinary light distribution pattern.
