Abstract:
The present invention provides a vehicle lamp comprising a projection lens, wherein a large amount of glare is not directed at oncoming drivers and it is possible to ensure the visibility of the road ahead of a vehicle. First and second lamp units (30A, 30B) are configured by forming upward-facing reflective surfaces (38Aa, 38Ba) on shades (38A, 38B), and the utilization rate of luminous flux with respect to emitted light from light sources (34A, 34B) reflected by reflectors (36A, 36B) is thereby increased. In addition, a protrusion (38Ab) which blocks some of the reflected light from the reflector (36A) reflected by the upward-facing reflective surface (38Aa) is formed in the shade (38A) at a position closer to the vehicle lane side than the optical axis (Ax) of a projection lens (32A) in the upward-facing reflective surface (38Aa), while no such protrusion is formed in the shade (38B). As a result, the brightness of an area near a location below a cutoff line on the oncoming vehicle lane side is locally curbed without reducing the brightness more than necessary.
