Abstract:
The present invention uses a simpler configuration to achieve a device that makes it possible to switch a supply source to a power storage unit without interrupting the power supply to an object to be supplied with power even when the power supply from a power source unit stops. A backup device (1) is provided with: a discharge circuit (3B) that raises or lowers the voltage applied to a power storage unit-side conductive path (23) and applies the resulting voltage to an output-side conductive path (22); a control unit (5) that controls the discharge circuit (3B) so that a predetermined target voltage smaller than the voltage applied to a power path (81) when a power source unit (91) is fully charged is applied to the output-side conductive path (22); and a diode (30) (an element part) provided between the power path (81) and the output-side conductive path (22).
