Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a vehicle-mounted relay device capable of suppressing failures which occur as a result of insufficient power when data are being read or written.
A vehicle-mounted relay device 1 determines whether or not data can be read or written, on the basis of a required amount of stored power in an electricity storage device 51, required to read or write data, and the residual amount of stored power in the electricity storage device 51. The required amount of stored power in the electricity storage device 51 increases as the amount of data to be read or written increases, and therefore if the residual amount of stored power is equal to or greater than the required amount of stored power, then there is no risk that the residual amount of stored power in the electricity storage device 51 will run out before the reading or writing of data has finished. Therefore, if it has been determined that it is possible to read or write the data, then the vehicle-mounted relay device 1 causes an ECU 3, which is a vehicle-mounted control device, to begin reading or writing the data.
