Abstract:
A vehicle power unit in which an output shaft (33) extending in a vehicle width direction from a differential gear (13) which is housed, together with an electric motor (11) and a speed reducer (12), in a motor housing (14) is housed in the motor housing and has a vehicle widthwise end supported in the motor housing via an output shaft bearing (37). The motor housing includes a space portion (38) between the electric motor and the output shaft, and oil that has lubricated the electric motor and become scattered is supplied to the output shaft bearing via the space portion. Accordingly, it is possible to lubricate the output shaft bearing supporting the output shaft of the differential gear reliably using a simple structure, without forming a lubricating oil passageway in the wall of the motor housing, arranging a lubricating oil pipe in the motor housing, or using a lubricant such as grease.
