Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a vehicle travel route selection system and a travel route selection method for accurately setting a travel route that improves the amount of energy consumed when being implemented. [Solution] In this disclosed technology, a plurality of candidates for the travel route from the departure place to the destination are selected on the basis of map information relating to traveling of a vehicle (A1). The travel time and the travel speed for each of the candidates is predicted (A2). A traveling-related energy amount to be consumed for driving a motor and an auxiliary machinery-related energy amount to be consumed for driving auxiliary machinery are calculated for each of the candidates (A4-A5). The traveling-related energy amount is calculated on the basis of the travel time and the travel speed (A4), and the auxiliary machinery-related energy amount is calculated on the basis of the travel time (A5). The total energy amount for each of the candidates is calculated on the basis of the traveling-related energy amount and the auxiliary machinery-related energy amount (A6). The optimum route for the vehicle is selected on the basis of basic information including the total energy amount (A7).
