Abstract:
Provided are a vehicle-wheel bearing device and intermediate body which are intended to reduce costs by decreasing the forging injection weight and the machining amount, and a method for producing the same. A vehicle-wheel bearing device having a bolt-insertion hole (10) into which a hub bolt (6a) is press-fitted and which is formed in the outer-circumferential direction or the like of a vehicle-wheel attachment flange (6), wherein: a recess (11) is formed in advance by forging in a site at which the bolt-insertion hole (10) is to be drilled; this recess (11) is formed in a bowl shape which is provided with a flat floor (11b) and extends from the lateral surface (6c) of the vehicle-wheel attachment flange (6) along an angled surface (11a); machining is performed so as to form the bolt-insertion hole (10) in the floor (11b) and a beveled section in the opening section on both sides thereof; and one or both of the beveled sections are configured from the angled surface (11a) of the recess (11) formed by forging.
