Abstract:

A vehicle (10) with a tailgate, wherein a rear opening (30) is formed in the rear surface of a vehicle body (25), a tailgate (40) capable of opening and closing the rear opening (30) is provided, a sub-door opening (50) is formed in part of the tailgate (40) in the width direction, and a sub-door (60) capable of opening and closing the sub-door opening (50) is provided. The invention further includes: a tailgate latch device (41) that locks the vehicle body (25) and the tailgate (40); a sub-door latch device (61) that locks the vehicle body (25) and the sub-door (60); and a control unit (100) that controls the tailgate latch device (41) and the sub-door latch device (61). The control unit (100) controls the sub-door latch device (61) such that the sub-door (60) is prohibited from opening when the tailgate (40) is determined to be open.
