Abstract:

Provided is a vehicular accelerator pedal device equipped with an accelerator pedal that can be turned into a footrest during automated driving, the device enabling switching to manual driving without causing the driver to feel odd upon cancellation of automated driving. This accelerator device (7) is provided with: an accelerator pedal actuator (18) for moving the accelerator pedal (4) to a desired operating position; and an accelerator pedal operation amount sensor (17) for detecting an operation amount of the accelerator pedal. Upon cancellation of automated driving when the accelerator pedal is stepped on, an accelerator pedal control unit (26) detects the step-on position of the accelerator pedal using the accelerator pedal operation amount sensor, and calculates the accelerator pedal operation position corresponding to a throttle opening immediately prior to switching to manual driving, and moves the accelerator pedal to said operation position by means of the accelerator pedal actuator.
