Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a vehicular display device that can easily determine a wearing state of polarized sunglasses of the driver. [Solution] A vehicular display device 1 includes a polarizer 30 which is installed in front of a lens 12 of a camera 11 that continually acquires face images of a driver P and which is installed so that the direction of polarization is in the horizontal direction perpendicular to the vertical direction. The vehicular display device 1 has a control unit 22 that calculates a luminance value corresponding to each of the face images and causes a storage means 27 to store the calculated luminance value associated in a time series as luminance value information. Thereafter, the control unit 22 compares, of the plurality of pieces luminance value information stored in the storage means 27, the current luminance value information and the past luminance value information with each other and determines that the driver P has worn polarized sunglasses when the current luminance value information has decreased.
