Title:
VERTICAL ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/174245
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention reduces the occurrence of a situation such that spray of fuel injected from an injector adheres to an inner wall surface of an intake air channel, so as to stabilize fuel supply to a combustion chamber, even if a crankshaft is extended in a substantially vertical direction. A vertical engine is equipped with a pair of intake air channels (911a, 911b) disposed one above the other across a center axis line of a cylinder (241), a pair of intake air valves (41L1, 41L2) that opens or closes the pair of intake air channels, and fuel injectors (70L1, 70L2) that inject fuel into the pair of intake air channels, wherein the fuel injectors are disposed in such a manner that: the direction of the fuel injection is oriented toward back side portions of valve heads on the side of the center axis line (C1) of the cylinder relative to valve stems (411) of the intake air valves that are respectively provided in the intake air channels disposed one above the other; and a center axis line (FC2) for injection into the lower intake air channel is brought closer to the center axis line side of the cylinder than a center axis line (FC1) for injection into the upper intake air channel.
