Abstract:
A vertical form–fill–seal pouch packaging machine (1) comprises: a top folding unit (20) which forms a first in-fold (F1) by folding one side portion of a strip-shaped film (F) into a Z-shape; a bottom folding unit (30) which folds a center of the film (F) to cause side edges (E1, E2) of the film to oppose one another; a first pleat guide (34, 35) which raises a first pleat (G31) of the first in-fold (F1); a pouring portion forming unit (40) which forms a pouring portion (G8) between the side edges of the film (F); and a second pleat seal unit (51) which thermally welds the side edges (E1, E2) of the film (F) together to form a second pleat (G32), thereby forming the film (F) into a tube shape.
