Abstract:
The present invention is for directly and clearly observing the state of a melting chamber of an electric furnace. This video-device-equipped electric furnace comprises: a melting chamber; a preheating chamber; and a video device for observing the melting chamber. The video device includes: a relay lens; an inner tube that contains the relay lens and has an outer diameter of 100 mm or less; an outer tube that contains the inner tube; and an imaging device provided at the leading end in the axial direction of the relay lens, the leading end being on the outside of the furnace. The video device is provided via a hole in a furnace wall or a furnace lid such that the relay lens is separated from a highest interface of molten iron by 300 to 3500 mm in the vertical direction, and that the imaging device is located at a distance of 300 mm or more from the inner wall of the furnace lid or the furnace wall toward the outside of the furnace.
